On behalf of the First Battalion, First Marines Adoption Committee of Newport Beach, I would like to invite you to the Second Annual First Battalion, First Marines Golf Tournament at the beautiful Newport Beach Country Club. We will be playing a scramble format with an 11:00am shotgun start. This is an all inclusive golf tournament and a great opportunity to meet our Marines.

I would also like to take this opportunity to express our appreciation to all the tournament sponsors, participants, donors, the tournament committee, and the volunteers who have generously given and supported 1/1 in 2007. You made it possible for us to meet our financial goal in 2007, to directly support the Marines and the families of 1/1 in the months past.

We are pleased to again include Bentley Motors Inc. of Newport Beach among our supporters in 2008.  The first place winners of the 1/1 Golf Tournament will be competing in the 2008 Bentley Continental Cup National Final to be held at Barton Creek Resort in Austin, Texas.  This will be a first class golf tournament to be held the first weekend in March of 2009.

Finally I want to thank the Marines, Sailors, and the families of 1/1. You serve as a constant reminder to all of us of the courage and the sacrifice that makes our Corps and country great. Please take this opportunity to once again show your personal support for the 1st Battalion, 1st Marines in 2008!
